Cuba. Welcome to the country time forgot.
Flor de las Antillas, or Flower of the Antilles, honors Jose Pepin Garcia’s native Cuba, the largest island in the Greater Antilles. The capital, Havana, is lined with Spanish style houses in bright pastel shades and everywhere you look are antique American cars from the 1950's. Old-school models ranging from Oldsmobile, to Ford, to Chevrolet are a car collector’s dream. Yet, Cubans drive these classics as their primary mode of transportation.
While a lot of the old cars on Cuban streets leave little to be desired, there are also some stunningly restored classic automobile to be admired. In colors like electric blue, pink and turquoise, the cars brighten the dusty main streets of the city. Cuba is literally a moving car museum.
