December Cocktail of the Month

From holiday brunches to New Year’s Eve parties, no beverage is easier to make, or as elegant, as a punch made with sparkling wine. Sparkling wine punches like Punch Royale, are the perfect colorful centerpiece for any holiday gathering. A cigar with a sweet Rosado wrapper would make the ideal pairing with this punch. Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Rosado is an elegant, sweet and creamy smoke, mild enough for Punch Royale. (Or perhaps a Punch Rare Corojo- if you can find any in December!)

Punch Royale

8 oz. Chambord Liqueur

8 oz. Cranberry juice-chilled

2 (750mL) Bottles of Korbel Sweet Cuvee-chilled

Raspberries and/or blackberries for garnish

Right before guests arrive combine ingredients in a punch bowl. Stir and garnish with berries.

Bonus Cocktail

Hemingway Short Story Natural by Arturo Fuente is a medium to full-bodied blend with deep rich flavors of sweet citrus and subtle spicy cedar that pairs well with this holiday cocktail, the Poinsettia.

Poinsettia

1/2 ounce orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)

3 ounces cranberry juice

3 ounces Champagne

Garnish: orange twist

Directions:

Since there is no ice involved in making the Poinsettia, you'll want to chill the ingredients before mixing the drink. Place the bottles in the refrigerator for an hour or two before the party and you'll be good to go. Pour the orange liqueur and cranberry juice into a chilled Champagne flute. Stir well. Top with Champagne and garnish with orange twist.
