If you ask any cigar aficionado what separates Rocky Patel from others in the industry, they will replythat Patel remains committed to high quality and continues to be innovative. Take a peek into the Rocky Patel portfolio and you will find everything from the wild, coffee infused Java to the powerful robust Super Ligero. But it’s the Vintage Series that put RP on the map. Since the introduction of Vintage, it has received 90+ ratings and is Patel’s most successful line.
There are four Vintage blends in the series; 1990, 1992, 1999, and 2003. The Vintage 2003 Cameroon was released in 2011 at the IPCPR trade show. Vintage 2003 is another amazing blend from the series and already a very popular cigar among cigar enthusiasts. Rocky Patel Vintage 2003 is a well-balanced blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican long fillers with an aged binder, and finished with a Cameroon wrapper, which was harvested in 2003 and allowed to age for 8 years. This medium to full bodied cigar has a little more zest than the others in the Vintage series. The dark, coffee-hued, aged wrapper supplies the Vintage 2003 with lush, complex flavors and pleasant aromas with hints of coffee, sweet spice, woodsy cedar with a nutty finish. It is said that a Patel cigar needs a good 6 months in a humidor before it reaches the blender’s goal. It isrecommended that Vintage 2003 Cameroon be further aged in a humidor for 6 to 9 months. If thatseems too long to wait, no worries; the Vintage 2003 Cameroon has enough full flavor to satiate thediscriminating taste.
