Top Cigars for Halloween - Part 1

Top Cigars for Halloween - Part 1

While any night is a good night for a premium cigar, the crisp, cool air and the auburn colored trees swaying in the wind makes for a spooky smoking setting.

Happy Halloween! It doesn’t seem fair that the children get to have all the fun on Halloween. After all, the adults give out all the candy, and get to drag their little monsters from door to door to fill their bags with goodies.

While any night is a good night for a premium cigar, the crisp, cool air and the auburn colored trees swaying in the wind makes for a spooky smoking setting. I have chosen cigars that will give you a fright this Halloween! Hell, I’ll even throw in my Halloween-themed playlist for your listening “pleasure”.

Top Cigars for Halloween - Part 1

#1. ACID Blondie Candela

ACID Blondie Candela from master blender, Willy Herrera, is a mysterious blend of aromatic infused tobaccos enclosed in a sweet green Candela wrapper. This little green monster has notes of earthy tea, sweet aromatics and a touch of tobacco. This cigar will satisfy your sweet tooth.

#2. Asylum 13 Habano

Asylum 13 Habano is a true Nicaraguan puro cloaked in a dark, Nicaraguan Habano wrapper with a combination of aged Cuban-seed long-fillers grown throughout the black, fertile volcanic soils of Nicaragua. Medium to full-bodied, Asylum 13 Habano provides a complex explosion of flavors including black pepper, rich espresso, and dark cocoa. This blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos also provides a finish with subtle notes of sweet cream and spice. If you enjoy full strength Nicaraguan cigars, you will go crazy over Asylum 13 Habano.

#3. Caldwell Cigars The King is Dead

Caldwell Cigars' The King is Dead is veiled in a vintage dark 2008 Dominican Negrito wrapper. Beneath it lies Dominican Corojo Ligero, Dominican Negrito, Dominican grown Habano Vuelta Abajo filler tobacco and a Dominican Corojo binder. The result is medium to full-bodied with undertones of deep milk chocolate surrounded by full flavors of coffee, cedar, oak and spice with a rich earthy complexity. Caldwell Cigars are truly unique and incredibly tasty!

#4. Chupacabra Hellcat by Esteban Carreras

Chupacabra Hellcat is wrapped in a gorgeous Mexican San Andrés wrapper and features the same Nicaraguan binder and long filler tobaccos as used in the original Chupacabra. The cigar is pigtailed with a shaggy foot. Chupacabra Hellcat immediately de-”livers” notes of leather and dark roast coffee in the forefront, and background notes of semi-sweet chocolate. Although, the cigar gets its moniker from a terrifying mythical creature whose name means “goat sucker”, you will experience nothing but extreme pleasure associated with this smoke.

Song: ‘Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)’ by David Bowie

#5. Deadwood Crazy Alice

Deadwood Crazy Alice is distributed by Drew Estate and hand-rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua. Crazy Alice is an insanely unique cigar. The Crazy Alice is a distinctive pig-tailed, cone- shaped Torpedo that is built around an exotic blend of aromatic filler and binder tobaccos joined by a dark and menacing fragrant Maduro wrapper. Crazy Alice offers a medium-bodied smoke with notes of coffee, velvety cream, and touches of earth and a bit of sweetness to the mix.

#6. Gurkha Ghost Asura

The Gurkha Ghost Asura is a sleek and stylish cigar that showcases a dark Brazilian, Arapiraca Maduro wrapper, complemented by an aged Criollo 1998 Binder and carefully selected Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Ghost is a rich, medium-bodied cigar with a multi-layered flavor profile providing sweet and earthy undertones with lingering flavors of cocoa and cinnamon. The Gurkha Ghost Asura is presented with an elegant, yet sinister, holographic band with black and silver accents.

#7. Magic Toast by Alec Bradley

At the 2018 IPCPR in Las Vegas, Alec Bradley unveiled its long awaited “mystery cigar”-  Magic Toast. Magic Toast is a blend of two binders and long-fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua cloaked in a very dark Honduran wrapper leaf. Magic Toast has charming, mystical notes of coffee, earth, dark cherry, and red and white pepper and floral notes. This cigar will have you screaming for more!

#8. Punch Diablo Scamp

For those who want to take a walk on the dark side, the Punch Diablo Scamp is for you. AJ Fernandez collaborated on this newer Punch, which is rumored to be the strongest ever offered. The cigar is wrapped in an aged, extra dark Ecuadoran Sumatra Oscuro leaf which immediately sets it apart. The blend is comprised of Nicaraguan and Honduran Habano ligero leaves which are bound by a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. The result is a cigar that is devilishly bold with indulgent cedar, dried fruit, leather, pepper, and coffee. Diabolic!
