In 2009, Jaime Garcia paid tribute to his father, cigar legend Don Pepín Garcia, creating the Reserva Especial blend. The proud father honored his son for creating this line by naming the cigar after Jaime. The dark, oily, near-veinless Maduro Broadleaf wrapper is paired with My Father’s well-aged Nicaraguan long-leaf filler and binder. The medium-to-full-bodied smoke is aromatic with flavors of oak, espresso and the My Father’s signature pepper. El Cigar currently has the Super Gordo and Toro Gordo in stock. Your father will appreciate the handcrafted blend only a father and son can create.
Alec Bradley is the name of a popular brand of handmade cigars established in 1996 by Alan Rubin, the son of a hardware supplies importer. The brand is named after his children. His Prensado is a blend of aged Honduran and Nicaraguan long-leaf tobaccos encased in an aged Honduran Trojes Corojo wrapper leaf. The Prensado Churchill is a full-bodied cigar that displays hints of chocolate and leather that will have your dad craving more (Prensado is available in boxes of 20). Don’t forget to tell your dad that Alec Bradley Prensado won the 2011 #1 spot in Cigar Aficionado Magazine!
Arturo Fuente, Sr. had originally envisioned passing his small family cigar business on to his eldest son, Arturo, Jr., yet it was his younger son Carlos that spent the most time working for the company. In 1958 Carlos Fuente, Sr. bought the business for $1.00. As of 2010, Carlos Fuente, Sr. and his son Carlos Fuente, Jr. oversaw Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic producing over 30 million cigars annually. At the age of 81 Carlos Fuente, Sr. died August 5, 2016, in Tampa, FL. The extremely popular Hemingway series by Arturo Fuente is handcrafted with aged Dominican filler tobaccos, a Dominican binder, and African Cameroon wrappers. The Hemingway is a medium to full-bodied blend with deep rich flavors of sweet citrus, and spicy cedar. There are many vitolas available. Around Father’s Day you’ll be lucky to track them down, but El Cigar Shop has plenty in stock!

Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. is a Cuban American master cigar maker. “Working alongside his father, Ernesto made cigars for the locals in Little Havana. It wasn’t until his father contemplated selling El Credito in 1976 that young Ernesto realized that this was his calling in life.” EP Carrillo Encore is a Nicaraguan Puro made in the Dominican Republic. The blend is part of the “Family Series” portfolio. The tobacco is specially aged in a technique called tercios. Tercios is the process of bailing the tobacco and wrapping it in the bark of palm trees. This aging technique supplies a unique flavor profile. The Majestic (5 3/8 x 52) was rated 96 and #1 Cigar of 2018 by Cigar Aficionado!
