El Titan de Bronze Cigar Manufacturer was established in 1995 in Little Havana, Miami, FL. Family owned and operated, the factory is located in the famous historic district on Calle Ocho (8th Street). El Titan de Bronze invokes the flavors and spirits of Old-World Cuba.

El Titan de Bronze was named after Second Lieutenant of the Cuban Army, Antonio Maceo Grajales.  Maceo was one of the most noteworthy guerrilla leaders in 19th century Latin America. Fellow Cubans gave him the nickname “El Titan de Bronze” (In English “The Bronze Titan") because of his strength and resistance to physical injuries. In 1890 he was quoted as saying "My duties to country and to my own political convictions are above all human effort; with these I shall reach the pedestal of freedom or I shall perish fighting for my country's redemption." 

My first encounter with El Titan de Bronze was in May 2009. As an avid cigar smoker, my first stop was the legendary Calle Ocho to tour El Rey de Los Habanos, the factory of the renowned Garcia family. Across the street, I noticed the small boutique factory, El Titan de Bronze. When I walked in, owner Sandy Cobas welcomed me like an old friend and showed me around the aging room. What I thought would be a 10-minute visit turned into 2 hours of smoking El Titan de Bronze cigars along with Cuban coffee and great conversation with Sandy and her husband.

All of El Titan de Bronze cigars are handcrafted in the United States by level 9 torcedores (rollers).  Each cigar is constructed in the traditional Cuban style and finished with an exquisite triple cap. Then the “tarea” (day’s work) is inspected by a master roller and blender. The small-batch cigars are boxed and dated to ensure the company’s highest standards. Along with their own signature brand, El Titan de Bronze rolls and blends for premium brands such as Herrera Estelí by Drew Estate, the limited release premium La Palina Goldie, and El Cigar Shop’s Family Series. 

Sam Paley founded La Palina cigars in 1896 in Chicago.  Mr. Sam was the moniker given to him by the workers in his factory. Mr. Sam, the cigar, has a dark and oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper compressing binder and filler from the Jalapa Valley and Estelí regions of Nicaragua. Mr. Sam has notes of honey, cedar, caramel, and a subtle red peppery spice. Mr. Sam Corona was rated 90 by Cigar Aficionado.

La Palina Family Series Miami is a premium blend of Ecuadoran Corojo ’98 wrapper enclosing an Ecuadorian Habano binder and long-fillers from Jalapa Valley and Estelí in Nicaragua. The La Palina Family Series is medium-bodied with vivid flavors of nuts, coffee, and spices with a sweet caramel finish. The Miami Babe, named after Bill Paley’s mother, Barbara, received a 90 rating by C.A in 2016. 

Also included in this series is the aforementioned Goldie. A very rare and limited release cigar which is coveted by connoisseurs across the globe. The 2018 release of the Goldie is called Cañanazo. It is rolled with a golden-brown wrapper grown in Ecuador, with an Ecuadorian binder and long-filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. As with previous Goldies, the blend also includes a small amount of medio tiempo leaf from Nicaragua, which greatly enhances the overall strength and body of this very unique smoke.

El Cigar Shop’s own blend was developed by El Titan de Bronze. The Family Series S.G. is a Nicaraguan Puro with a Corojo wrapper and the best Nicaraguan tobaccos. The collaboration produces magnificent flavors of leather, cinnamon, and a characteristic mild spice, which are all characteristics of a Nica Puro.

Also created by El Titan de Bronze, El Cigar’s house blend Family Series Sawyer- Blanton's Bourbon Infused Habano is a blend of aged Nicaraguan long filler tobacco and binder infused with premium Blanton’s Bourbon encased in a Habano wrapper leaf. The Kentucky bourbon attributes to a hint of sweetness with notes of citrus and spice. This particular cigar is like nothing you have ever tasted!
