5 Vegas AAA Review
The 5x56 stick has an oily, toothy very brown wrapper. It is tight and invisible, with minimal veins. The wrapper on this particular sample was damaged near the cap. I will try my best to keep it together. The first light shows excellent smoke production. It has a medium draw, moderate body flavors, and a bit of bitterness. It also has an oily mouthfeel and a long finish. Many different flavors emerge in the first third, which changes slightly from draw to draw. The first third has a fruity, tart flavor. It then transitions to rich, dark chocolate, black pepper, and cedar flavors. The finish is oily and thick, but not too heavy. It leaves a little heat on your lips. The smoke output is excellent and the draw has tightened up a bit, which makes it perform very well. A nice creamy flavor was added towards the end of the third. At the halfway point, there are no noticeable flavor changes, but the strength is increasing. The last third of the coffee was finished at 50 minutes. It maintained the great flavor and kept the strength low, but added a wonderful coffee note. This was sent in by Owen Johnson, a viewer. For any questions about 5 Vegas Cigars call (215) 576-5300
5 Vegas Cask-Strength Toro Cigar Review
This box-pressed 6x52 stick has a glove softly spongy wrapped dark brown and red-hued wrapper. There are no visible seams and minimal veins. The double cap is also included. It features a rich cocoa and cedar scent. The first light shows a snug draw and medium-bodied tobacco flavors. They have a sweet, long finish. There is nothing artificial about this smoke, but it does leave a strong lingering impression. The second third is pretty much the same, with a slight softening of the earth. The burn is good, a little wonky but not in dire need of a touchup. It did require a lot of touchups at the halfway point, 40 minutes into the cooking time. The flavors changed slightly, with the earth dominating the draw and the pepper dominating the finish. It's still quite smooth. The stick finished at 1:20. It had a good burn time, but it still needed to be re-tightened at the band. It got smoother in the final inches, with a deeper earthy and tobacco core punctuated with a little crème on draw. Dexter Hicks, a viewer, sent this sample in. For any questions about 5 Vegas Cigars call (215) 576-5300
