Eliminate Cigar Smoke from your Car

There is nothing better than lighting a hand-rolled premium cigar while on a roadtrip. It is relaxing and helps pass the time during a long trip.

Many of you don't smoke in your car. There are several reasons for this. It could be because of your family, or simply that the smell of cigar smoke is not appealing. Even premium cigars leave a stale smell in enclosed areas.

There are some steps you can take to eliminate, mask and prevent the bad smells that may be caused by smoking in your car. My car smells like a cigar bar even with the convertible top down.

The smoke will still drift to the rear of your vehicle if you open your front windows. Open your back windows at least a small crack.

Avoid driving with heat or air conditioning on because smoke will be drawn into the vents (even with windows open). If you have to use either, direct the vents towards the floor of the car.

A car with leather seating is an expensive option. Cloth seats are more absorbent of smoke than leather.

To mask the smell, I use a few items. Air fresheners that clip onto the vents in your car are a good start. These air fresheners last longer and are available in a variety of scents.

Spray fresheners or dryer sheets can temporarily mask the smell. Spraying white vinegar onto the carpet, mats and upholstery of your car and letting it air dry will also help mask the smell.

It's not easy to eliminate odors completely. Although you can use carpet and upholstery cleaning products, having your vehicle professionally detailed with a professional ozone application is the best option.

There are many air purifiers, ionizers and other products on the market to keep your car smelling fresh. Odor bombs do more than just mask the smell. They also destroy it. Plug-in ozonation systems are one of the best ways to keep your vehicle odor-free.

Plug it into your lighter or accessory outlet to finally get rid of that tacky pine-tree freshener.
