Cigar Shop with the Rarest Cigars

Cigar Shop with the Rarest Cigars

It almost feels like a crime to smoke a rare or "Holy Grail". It's hard to deny the mystique surrounding these cigars. Below is a list of the most elusive and difficult cigars.

Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Millennium

Padron launched the 1964 Anniversary Serie Millennium in 2000. Only 1,000 humidors containing each 100 cigars were created. Private collectors own the majority of limited edition humidors. El Cigar has Padron 64 in Natural or Maduro.

Fuente Don Carlos Box-Pressed Belicoso

Carlos Fuente Sr., the late Carlos Fuente Sr., used to make a Belicoso that was box-pressed half way. The cigars he made were for his personal enjoyment only, though he would occasionally give away some. The cigars weren't released on the market. The blend has been slightly modified to fit the unique size and shape (box pressed only halfway). This is not the exact blend of Fuente Eye Of The Shark but is the same size. Arturo Fuente Anejo No. The 77 or Shark edition is very limited and only available at Father's Day, Christmas and other special occasions. Don Carlos Edicion de Aniversario makes a great alternative.

La Palina Goldie Laguita Especial

The Goldie was released in 2012. It is a limited-edition release that comes in different vitolas each year. Maria Sierra was the only roller of the first five, who had worked at El Laguita in Havana. She ended her career in Miami at El Titan de Bronze. Goldie Laguita Lancero (7x40) was the third release of the series. It was limited to 2,500 cases of 10 cigars. El Cigar Shop offers La Palina's 2016 Goldie Dalia as an alternative.

Dinner of the Century Cohibas

In 1995, Paris publisher Marvin Shanken, and Cigar Aficionado, hosted an exclusive dinner. The first cigar of the evening was a diplomatic Trinidad, made exclusively for Fidel to give as a gift. Cubatabaco made a Cohiba Pyramid and Cohiba A exclusively for this dinner. These cigars were never sold commercially. A charity auction took place at the end of the night. The "King's Ransom" was the final lot that would be auctioned. It consisted of six cigar boxes with two of each type. After the bidding, the collection reached a total of $200,000. Find these items!

Trinidad Diplomatic Cigars

Trinidad cigars are "reserved only for special gifts from the Cuban Council of State." Trinidad cigars were also presented to guests of Cigar Aficionado’s Dinner of the Century. These Trinidads are so scarce that they have transcended the cigar world. The Diplomatic Trinidad is named after a Cuban tobacco-producing city, but the Trinidad Fundadores was first released in 1998. It has a distinctive pigtail hat.

Fuente Fuente Opus X

Fuente Fuente Opus X cigars are among the most elusive. Opus X is perhaps the most coveted cigar in the entire world. Fuente releases approximately 750,000 Opus X Cigars per year, despite the hype about their rarity. It isn't the easiest cigar to locate, but it can be found if you know where and when to look. Opus cigars are still rare for most people who smoke them. This Dominican Puro cigar is a favorite of counterfeiters. Fuente Fuente's Opus X cigar is the gold standard against which all other cigars are judged.

El Cigar Shop is always on the lookout for rare and unusual cigars. You never know what you will find if you keep an eye on us! Cheers!
