 When first you pick up a cigar from this box, you may find it somewhat humorous.  On the band is a parrot, a bright and exotic bird, who almost seems to be handing you the cigar, heralding the flavor of the cigar to you.  Honestly, it seemed to me like something I’d buy at a Jimmy Buffet concert.  However, do not let the parrot misguide you, this is a serious and flavorful cigar from a serious company.

The San Cristobal Revelation Legend Box of 24 cigars are unlike most of the cigars that Ashton makes.  Ashton cigars are made by the Arturo Fuente factory for Ashton, and these cigars are made for Ashton by Don Pepin Garcia, the man who made My Father cigars what they are today.  The Garcia family grows the tobacco, picks the tobacco, and puts this line of cigars together, doing it all in their location in Esteli, Nicaragua, and making sure that their cigars are fantastic.

The tobacco for these cigars is carefully aged under the watchful eyes of Don Pepin Garcia, in order to ensure that the tobacco will be flavorful and will have consistent taste to it.  They take this tobacco, aged in Nicaragua, and then partner it with a fantastic wrapper, an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, which provides a milk chocolate color to the cigar as well as notes of leather and earth to the cigar when it is smoked. This produces a cigar that, once lit, has a medium body, producing earthy and rich flavors, notes of leather, cedar, nuts, and spice, and leaving you with a lasting and spicy taste in your mouth once the cigar is finished.
