Oliva, the celebrated cigar-making family from Nicaragua, has created one of the most unique flavored and delicious cigars in the world. Five years in the making, The Oliva Serie V Melanio finally arrived in 2012. It was named after Oliva patriarch Melanio, who was the first in his family to grow tobacco in Cuba. Today, the Oliva tradition creating premium hand rolled cigars continues in Nicaragua.
The hand rolled cigar uses fermented and aged long leaf ligeros from the Nicaraguan regions of Estelí, Condega and the most coveted leaf comes from the Jalapa Valley. This makes for more flavor and aroma. Seamless in appearance, the Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf wrapper is dark and oily. The Serie V Melanio is a beautiful cigar.
Each Serie V Melanio is full-bodied with flavors of baked bread, black pepper and cocoa. You may notice hints of caramel, buttered toast and coffee with cream. The Double Toro comes in a box of 10 that will give you full, well rounded smooth flavors. It measures 6 x 60 to ensure maximum flavor.
The Serie V Melanio was named Cigar of the year in 2014 by Cigar Aficionado and earned an impressive 96-point rating by the magazine. An honor the Oliva family surely deserves and does not take lightly, as is the case with the Serie V Melanio. This is a serious cigar for the discriminating cigar smoker and should be enjoyed with the finest bourbon or single malt scotch of your choice.
