Humidor 101
Proper storage in a humidor is essential to preserve the natural oils in the wrapper. Cigars should be stored without the cellophane wrapper. Your humidor should maintain suitable humidity levels of 70% or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The air conditions outside the humidor should also be considered. Heat and air conditioning can affect the humidity in the humidor.
Depending on the thickness of the wrapper, aging cigars should be kept at 70%-79% humidity . The thicker the wrapper the higher the humidity level should be. After the desired age, the cigar should be brought down to 70% before smoking.
