- The Oliva NUB Habano - glossy, milk chocolate-brown wrapper. Rich tobacco core with a smoky aftertaste. Medium to full-bodied with a rich, creamy character throughout.
- 4 x 60
Incorrectly, many people describe all short, fat cigars as “nubs” but in actuality the Nub brand’s shape was created in essence to release the “sweet spot”. A process that instead of waiting for your cigar to burn down one to two inches allows you to taste the flavors immediately.
The Nub 460 Habano is a collaboration between Sam Lecchi of Leccia Tobacco and the renowned Oliva family’s Studio Tobac division. In the Nicaraguan Oliva Cigar Company tradition, they have created the premium line Nub 460 since 2008. The Nub 460 series replicates the Oliva Company’s principle, producing high quality cigars at reasonable prices.
In the Cuban-style tradition, the Nub 460 Habano is a full bodied cigar consisting of Nicaraguan Habano-seed leaf wrapper, binder and filler. The Nub 460 Habano has a milk chocolate brown, silky wrapper that compliments the smoky Habano. The medium to full bodied shorty is anything but short on flavor.
The squat cigar, at a mere 4 inches long, the Nub 460 Habano has an even draw and burn. Lasting nearly an hour this cigar is toasty and filled with spice and hints of wood and coffee. The potent nutty flavors and aromas are consistent throughout the almost one hour smoke. The finish is dry and with notes of peanuts.
Alone or paired with your favorite tequila or mescal, the Nub 460 Habano should be savored at your leisure. The rich, toasty profile of the Nicaraguan tobacco and a smoky mescal make a great pair.
Here is a recipe to make that excellent combination work. You’re welcome.
1 ounce of mescal
1 ounce of smoky blended Scotch (like the Black Grouse)
¼ ounce of agave syrup (light agave dissolved in an equal amount of hot water)
Dash of orange bitters
Stir it all together thoroughly, and strain it into a rocks glass over fresh ice
Garnish with orange peel
