The two frat brothers from Brooklyn, Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel, started their humble cigar careers with a small kiosk at the World Trade Center in NYC. In 2007 the team moved there operations to Nicaragua. The huge La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate is 96,000 sq. feet and is the largest premium cigar factory in Nicaragua. Specializing in fermented and infused cigars, there brands include Tabak Especial and the cult-like ACID.
The Tabak Especial Robusto Dulce is a fusion of Nicaraguan filler, Sumatra binder and a Connecticut wrapper. The rich tobacco is further infused with fair trade coffees harvested in the mountains of Nicaragua. The result is a medium to full-bodied smoking experience with pure tobacco flavor with a tinge of velvety espresso.
Tabak Especial is an excellent morning or mid-day cigar with coffee or an espresso. What is better than tailgating with good food, cold beer, great friends and tasty cigars? For Sunday 1:00 games, my friends and I start our traditional tailgating party around 9am. For some, this is not too early to start day drinking. But for the rest of us, we wait till at least 11am. For these games I pick up a box of coffee and pack a variety of cigars including Tabak Especial. After filling up on a pork roll egg and cheese sandwich and old fashioned doughnut, the obvious pairing is a nice caffeinated buzz to start the day of over indulgence. Go team!
