Carlito Fuente, Jr. went through many years of research to develop the Arturo Fuente Rosado Sungrown Magnum R cigars .The Rosado Sungrown wrapper is collected from the lower priming of fine Ecuadorian tobacco plants creating a milder, creamy smoke. The wrapper is then aged for 10 years. The rare Rosado Sungrown wrappers are probably the best tasting of all the Arturo Fuente cigars.
Arturo Fuente Magnum Rosado Sun Grown R cigars are medium-full bodied and hand rolled in the Dominican Republic. Their elegant complex flavors have notes of cedar, pepper and roasted nuts with a unique sweetness.
I was at my local Brick and Mortar seeking a different smoking experience but remaining loyal to my preferred brand Arturo Fuente. When he mentioned the Rosado, I was intrigued. We lit up together and suddenly I was captivated by the smooth creaminess. I wished I had a cognac. Unfortunately my B & M does not offer alcohol. Under no pressure, I purchased a box of these beauties and on my way home stopped for a bottle of Martell VSOP. The medium bodied cognac reveals some notes of nuts and wood with a hint of sweetness. On the palate, fresh notes of dried fruit along with my Rosado Sungrown Magnum made for a fine, relaxing evening sitting by the fireplace.
Once again I want to thank my friends at El Cigar for introducing this cigar to me and I hope we can enjoy a cognac and a Fuente Rosado in the near future.
