- The kings of boutique cigar brands, Rocky Patel and Jonathan Drew have collaborated on the coffee-infused Java series taking fans of both brands by storm.
Java Maduro consists of fine Nicaraguan long fillers perfectly box-pressed in a Brazilian Mata Fina
Maduro wrapper. Java Maduro is infused with essences of espresso chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. This
makes for a medium bodied, creamy and smooth smoke. The premium infused cigar packs a lot of
coffee flavor without overpowering the spicy tobaccos.
Start your morning off on the right foot and enjoy your Java Maduro with a cup of coffee, or a fancier
cappuccino, or a latte.
Lattes are made with steamed milk, foamed milk, and a very little bit of coffee. Lattes are very creamy
and smooth with a little espresso flavor. Cappuccinos are similar except with a higher ratio of espresso to steamed milk. The rich robust aroma of the Italian espresso and the creaminess of a cappuccino pairs
very well with the Java Maduro. The medium bodied smoke with Nicaraguan tobaccos followed by the
luscious Brazilian Maduro wrapper produces a creamy and sultry smoke with rich, dark notes of
espresso, chocolate and vanilla. After an Italian feast of pasta, either pairing will make a satisfying end to
your meal. Below is a recipe for baked ziti that was often served around the holidays.
Patty’s Baked Ziti
Ingredients:
1 pound ziti pasta, cooked and drained
2 cups basic tomato sauce
2 cups béchamel sauce
1 pound fresh mozzarella, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup grated parmigiano reggiano
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
In a large mixing bowl, combine tomato sauce, béchamel, mozzarella and grated cheese and stir to mix
well. Divide among 4 gratin dishes, sprinkle with bread crumbs and bake in oven until bubbling and
crusty on top, about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
Buon appetito!
