CAO is one of the more interesting cigar companies that operate under the auspices of the entity known as ‘General Cigar Co.’, and definitely one of the better ones that make more boutique cigars. You see, they have a weird love of making cigars that are puros, cigars that are made entirely of the tobacco of one nation, and the Brazilia GOL! is just one of these, albeit the one with the title that is the most fun to say.
CAO has a few lines like the Brazilia GOL, including one that is made entirely of tobacco from the USA (which is quite a feat, since most of our tobacco is not grown and aged for use in cigars, but rather in cigarettes or pipes, so finding enough tobacco to make a line of cigars here in the USA is a feat). But the CAO Brazilia GOL is a great line, and one that you should consider trying, even if you’re not a soccer fan or a huge fan of Brazil.
This is a full-bodied cigar, which is what you would expect from such a dark cigar, really. Using a dark wrapper from the Bahia region, tobacco from across the nation, and the skill and knowledge of a company that has been making tobacco related products for years, they made a cigar that is flavorful with a long and earthy finish to it, and one that will emit voluminous clouds of bluish smoke when lit. Truly, a cigar that you will be happy to have had, and one that you will come to love. The GOL! is their robusto size, and it is a fantastic cigar.
