In September, 2015 to commemorate 20 years in the cigar industry, Rocky Patel released the Twentieth Anniversary Toro Natural. According to the Rocky Patel website:
“Celebrating 20 years in the business of creating iconic cigars, we couldn’t deliver something short of magnificent. This cigar follows the lineage of the Rocky Patel Decade and Fifteenth Anniversary brands and takes things to a whole new level. With 4 years in development, this blend combines fillers from Estelí and Jalapa, Nicaragua, as well as Jamastran, Honduras. It is encompassed in an elegant Honduran wrapper. Box-pressed, beautiful and soon to be legendary.”
Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary Toro has a medley of flavors. Most notable are pepper, dark chocolate, cedar and citrus on the palate. In the background there is a faint hint of fig and nuts. It then finishes with a light mocha espresso flavor. It’s almost like eating a Snickers bar without the dreaded calories. This the perfect cigar to enjoy with your after dinner coffee or espresso. For those looking to imbibe, a medium-dark, aged rum would make a great companion.
A Nicaraguan blend duet would make an impeccable coffee and cigar pairing. Nicaraguan coffees are bright with fruitiness and hints of cacao. Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary, with its java essence, is a perfect pairing for the Nicaraguan blend coffee which is in suit with the savory, sweet flavors and appearance of this fine cigar.
Although it is non-alcoholic, Café Las Flores Grandes Cosechas Roast is a unique fusion of Ron Flor de Caña Centenario 18 year oak barrel aged rum and coffee. A hot cup of this infusion has an amber color with hints of oak, vanilla and toasted nuts with the rum flavor that lingers on the palate.
Whatever your poison, you will certainly be impressed with the Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary Natural Toro.
