Partagas is not a company that is new to the cigar world. In fact, the name Partagas has been involved in cigar making for about a hundred and seventy years. They began in Havana, Cuba, and were one of the few cigar companies that were lucky enough to survive the Cuban revolt (remember, cigars are a vice of the rich). More than that, they survived decently intact, and they were allowed to continue making cigars under the Fidel Castro government, though the name of the facility was changed and the cigars suffered a bit in quality.
Partagas’ name was used again elsewhere, though. They were registered in the Dominican Republic, and after making cigars in Jamaica for a short amount of time, they moved into a new facility there where they have been making cigars that are reminiscent of the finer Cuban blends of tobacco that Partagas once stood for and produced.
The Partagas Black is the dark offering from Partagas, a cigar that is full in body and flavor, and one that lives up to the complexity of the Cuban brand. These small cigarillos are made with a Medio Tiempo Sun Grown wrapper, along with a dark blend of tobaccos that will give you an earthy taste to enjoy. A great way to be able to fit a full smoke into a short amount of time, and a cigar that you should definitely get when you find it for sale in your humidor or at your favorite cigar shop online.
