A few years ago I was on a business meeting in Tampa. I found myself with a little down time and decided to visit the historic district of Ybor City. Established in the 1920s, Ybor City was home to the largest cigar production city in the United States .There are many restaurants and shops along the avenues and an array of cigar shops to get your fix. This is where I first discovered the Nicaraguan based Oliva Cigar Company. I decided to try the family owned company’s Serie G Maduro. Coming in various sizes I chose the Torpedo. And I’m so happy I did. The Oliva Cigar Company’s many series are now my go to brand. But I’m most fond of the Serie G.
The Oliva Serie G Maduro Torpedo is a well-balanced dark and oily cigar which utilizes a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan long leaf filler. The 6.5 x 52 torpedo burns slowly and evenly. So if you have an hour or more to spare this is the perfect cigar.
The Serie G is medium bodied and carries notes of bitter chocolate, nuts and toast. At the half way point you will discover creamy notes of coffee. The smoke is rich but very smooth. This cigar is enjoyable to the very end.
Whether you’re in the historical area of Ybor City or shopping online, the Oliva Cigar Company is a reliable choice. Their fine line of cigars are of the highest quality and value.
