Of all the Macanudo lines that are currently in production, I would have to say that this one is easily my favorite. When I go into the humidor in my local cigar shop, or when I’m looking online at Macanudos on my usual cigar shops online, I always see if there’s a deal for the Macanudo Inspirado line. There never is, but I can always dream, right?
It’s funny how, in the beginning, this cigar line wasn’t even available in the United States. Macanudo’s history, even before the Cuban Revolution when the cigars were still being made over in Cuba, is one that is mostly faced toward the European market, and so we were mostly an afterthought for them. They send the awesome new blends over there first, and sometimes we never see them. Thankfully, they brought the Inspirado stateside in 2014, and it isn’t likely to disappear any time soon.
With an Olancha San Agustin wrapper from Honduras, filler from Honduras and Nicaragua, and a Honduran binder, this cigar is one that you will be able to enjoy again and again. It is tasty, and unlike most of the Macanudo products (including their Maduro line) this cigar is medium-full bodied, so you don’t end up with a cigar that leaves you unfulfilled when you smoke it. If you’re looking for a deeper and richer flavor, one that has spice and earthy tones to it, then you’re going to want to look into this lovely cigar.
