“Mr. Sam” was the nickname of La Palina founder, Sam Paley given to him by the workers at his Congress Cigar Company in Chicago. In 1926 Sam retired and the La Palina brand faded away. Today the reinvented La Palina series pays homage to the founding father that started it all.
As with the La Palina Goldie, Mr. Sam Corona is rolled at the famous El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami. Mr. Sam is a rich blend of sturdy Nicaraguan binder and long filler tobacco enclosed in a rustic dark, subtly oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf. Bursting with flavors of earth, cocoa, cedar, vanilla, and spice with a nutty finish, Mr. Sam is a medium to full-bodied cigar.
From the exceptional craftsmanship, complex flavors, and the elegant packaging, Mr. Sam is a sophisticated, timeless cigar in every aspect. You can’t pair Mr. Sam with any old spirits. He cries out for the finest bourbon or cognac you can afford. Winner of the Best VSOP Cognac at the 2017 World Cognac Awards, the ABK6 VSOP Single Estate Cognac is from a single estate in the Fins Bois region of South west France. Fragrant with spice and ripe apricots, this Cognac can be enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to enhance the fruit flavors. ABK6 VSOP is an excellent high quality French cognac at an affordable price worthy of sharing time with Mr. Sam. If bourbon is your poison, 1792 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon from the Sazerac Company was the silver medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition. Equally sophisticated and complex like Mr. Sam, 1792 is smooth and balanced with notes of vanilla, spice and caramel. Enjoy responsibly.
