When I first came across Alcazar I thought it said “Alcatraz”, or perhaps it was the name of a drug czar. Either way, both would be a strange name to call a cigar. Alcazar is actually named after a late 19th century race horse.
J.C. Newman’s Alcazar Maduro combines aged Nicaraguan binder and long leaf filler encased in a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper creating a dark rich medium cigar. The beautiful, oily chocolate brown wrapper brings bold cocoa and spicy aromas. When you want to buy cigars online, like the Alcazar #1, always go to elcigarshop.com!
When football season rolls around, there is nothing like some satisfying food and drink, complimented by a fine cigar. After a bowl of hearty spicy chili, pull out an Alacazar Maduro and a fine aged scotch and chillax. Here is a recipe for Game Day Chili to help you do just that!
Game Day Chili
2 pounds ground chuck
1 medium onion chopped
½ Green bell pepper chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (32-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes in sauce
1 (12-ounce) bottle lager beer
1 (4.5-ounce) can chopped green chiles
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoons cayenne
1 teaspoon hot sauce
Cook first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium heat, stirring until meat crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain well.
Combine meat mixture, beans, and next 11 ingredients in Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 3 hours or until thickened.
Garnish with cilantro, jalapeno, pepper jack and sour cream, if desired. Awesome!
