Hoyo De Monterrey cigars are another one of those brands that you can find so many places, that some people seem to ignore that they’re for sale there. It’s kind of like your local fast food joint, you know? You can always see it, so you very rarely consider it unless you’re hungry for that in particular.
And in the case of the Hoyo De Monterrey Black Box cigars, that’s a real shame. They’ve got a box that is kind of easy to pass up, since so many cigars come in black boxes these days that it’s almost impossible to tell the difference between them when they’re the usual shape and size. Their band, on the other hand, is something a bit more eye-grabbing, but even that doesn’t help everyone to decide to take the risk and try a cigar that they’ve never had before.
The Hoyo De Monterrey Black Box Gigante cigar is worth your attention and your money, though, and I’ll tell you why. It’s been my go-to cigar for many years when I go to a cigar lounge and want a nice and dark cigar. It begins with the dark and peppery Habano Shade wrapper, providing a delicious flavor and a deepness and complexity of taste. The binder is Ecuadorian Sumatra, and the filler is Pennsylvania, Nicaraguan Ometepe, and Nicaraguan Esteli, producing an even more peppery flavor that you will come to love.
It is a full-flavored and dark cigar, and one that you will enjoy time and again, and if you’re looking for a new favorite? Well, then I can’t recommend the Hoyo De Monterrey Black Box Gigante enough.
