EP Carrillo is not a new name in the cigar world, although they are new to having their very own line of cigars. They’ve been in the cigar world for decades, and have been manufacturing cigars in America for most of that time. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo himself, in fact, was making cigars in Cuba before he came to the United States of America and began making cigars here, and if you’re worried that he wasn’t making good cigars, then you need only look at the work that he did for La Gloria Cubana. He designed almost their entire line of cigars, blended the tobaccos, and more, and the cigars that he made for La Gloria Cubana came out quite well indeed.
It only makes sense, I suppose, that eventually he would come to want to be able to use his considerable talents and cigar knowledge to be able to make cigars for himself, to be sold under a label bearing his own name. And the cigars that he makes are not any less amazing than the La Gloria Cubana vitolas that he designed earlier.
The New Wave Reserva Connecticut cigars are indeed delicious, and they are well-made with quality ingredients. It begins with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, into which is placed fine long-leaf filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, along with a Nicaraguan binder. This creates a tasty cigar with a bit of zest to it, and that’s a cigar that you are going to want to try out when you find it in your local humidor or via your favorite online cigar shop.
