Most of the basic Ashton lines have very basic bands that let you know what they are, a simple cigar but one that is filled with flavor. This cigar, however, comes with a beautiful and much more ornate label, one that displays that not only is this no ordinary Ashton cigar, but that it is an Ashton cigar that has a little something special to it. The bottom band, an additional band to the primary band, says proudly ‘Virgin Sun Grown’, referring to the wrapper used in the cigar.
These cigars, like the entire Ashton line, are made in a limited quantity by Arturo Fuente, and they are a quality cigar if you can find one to taste. The wrapper is a Virgin Sun Grown wrapper born of Sumatran seeds in the Dominican soil and sun, and the tobacco used in the filler and binder is all Dominican Tobacco, grown and then aged for four to five years in order to get the peak flavor out of it. The cigar tastes of cedar and espresso, with intense notes of very dark chocolate and a slight earthiness to it, providing you with a medium-full bodied cigar that you will be sure to enjoy.
They’re hard to find in singles, but if you manage to find an entire box of Ashton VSG Sorcerers, you owe it to yourself and to your taste buds to try it out. You’ll be glad you found the box once you smoke the first one, as they’re some of the most collectible cigars on the market and some of the hardest to find.
